  • Details
Here we have a couple vintage Elastoplast tins.

Tin 1 is a flat tin 10cm x 8cm x 1.5cm. It has the recognisable red, although somewhat dulled, colouring of Elastoplast with black print. This tin has no damage and opens and closes as it should. It does however had expected age related wear including surface rust and general patina to it. For its age it is great condition.

Tin 2 is a tube tin standing9.5cm tall and 7.5cm in diameter. Again the recognisable Elastoplast red slightly more orange with black print bordered with black & white. Again the tin has no damage and the lid opens and closes as it should. It does have age related wear including surface rust and general patina. It is in great condition for its age. We think this is a slightly less older than the flat tin.

Smith & Nephew Ltd was founded in 1856 by Thomas James Smith of Kingston upon Hull who went into business as a dispensing chemist. A few months before his death in 1896, Smith was joined by his nephew, Horatio Nelson Smith, and the business became known as T. J. Smith and Nephew. In 1928 the company acquired the licence to market and produce the Elastoplast range of bandages. By 1977 the company acquired the pump manufacturer Watson-Marlow Pumps, before selling it to Spirax-Sarco Engineering in 1990. In 1986 it went on to acquire Richards Medical Company, a US specialist in orthopaedic products for £201 million.

    Can I collect from you.

Yes, we can arrange for you to collect form us and for some larger or delicate items we would prefer this. Just message us to arrange a convenient time for us all.

Can I have a quicker delivery

Yes, we can arrange for 1st class, next day etc where it is offered by Royal Mail. We would make an additional charge for this though so please contact us before purchase if it is not an available option. We are currently updating our postage options to allow this.

    Wholesale availability

Most of our items for sale are 'one offs' being items that we come accross that we think you might find of interest so it is unlikely that we would be able to offer a wholesale service, however if we find a supplier of some good quality interesting reproduction items this may change.
