Greek Aryballos Hand Made Museum Reproduction

This beautiful little pot is a reproduction of neoclassical Greek Aryballos. Manufactured exclusively for museums around the world using the same techniques that were originally used in ancient Greece. This fantastic example still has its lead seal that confirms its authenticity. These items are hand made, hand painted using traditional materials. This particular pot was made in Rhodes, Greece.

An Aryballos is a small spherical or globular flask with a narrow neck and was used for perfume or oils. They are often depicted in vase paintings as being used by athletes bathing. This one depicts the deity Helios the personification of the sun in ancient Greece. He is often depicted with a radiant crown, as in this piece. He would drive his horse drawn chariot across the skies during the day bearing the sun.

This is a lovely example of this type of pot and will be of interest to collectors of ancient Greek artefacts, museums, or as a period drama prop.
