  • Details
Here we have a Price & Kensington novelty sugar jar.

The jar isbrown glazed earthenware/porcelain in the image of a native West Indian sugar cane cutter late 19th/early 20th century. He stands 24.5cm tall and is 11.5cm in diameter at the base and weighs in at 997grams. The lid comprises of the gentlemans head and shoulders and he is seen sitting on a wood pile with his cutting knife. The jar is in good condition. This could also be used as a cookie or biscuit jar and will be sought after by collectors.

Price & Kensington were a subsidiaries of Arthur Wood & Son (Longport) Ltd. From 1962 to 2003 they were prolific manufacturers of everyday earthenware, tea & coffee sets, novelties, and souvenirs. Up until 2003 all the wares were made in England but this was then moved abroad.

    PLEASE NOTE
As of May 2021 we no longer offer free postage. Postage is a cost regardless of whether it is offered as 'free'. We do include packaging in the item cost so the postage charged is just the actual postage cost. We prefer our customers to see what they are paying for the item and what they are paying for postage. We always try to offer the best value postage for the items being sent. We will ensure safe packaging for delivery and use royal mail second class signed for. We also offer two other paid options for quicker UK delivery. Although cheaper alternatives are available we have found them to be less reliable and use less care handling your items. You are always welcome to collect at an agreed time to suit all concerned.
